The market

What buying from here looks like.

Granite holds the largest single share of the US countertop market, and the engineered stone it competes with is under active regulatory pressure over silica. We import our own material rather than selling you a container from India, which changes what you can order and how fast it arrives.

Buying an imported container commits a fabricator to a full load, a lead time measured in weeks and whatever the duty happens to be on the day it lands. Holding our own US inventory moves all of that onto us. You order the slabs you need, priced landed in dollars, and take delivery in days. It is also why we lead here with finished memorials and countertop material rather than commodity slabs: on differentiated work, duty is a smaller share of landed value and the position survives a tariff change.

  • Tariff classification confirmed per shipment before the proforma is issued.
  • Natural stone, not resin-bound engineered slab, so lower silica exposure for fabricators.

Catalogue for United States

What actually earns here.

Ordered by margin, not by volume. The categories at the top are where the value sits in this market. The rest is listed because it keeps lines loaded, not because we recommend leading with it.

Highest margin

Design-ready memorials

US monument buyers are moving to finished monuments from overseas to strip out domestic processing overhead. Black Galaxy carries a substantial premium in memorial work.

Specification
Uprights, flat markers, cremation benches and pedestals · polished, sawn or rock-pitched edges · lettering to artwork

Highest margin

Countertop slabs from US stock

The margin sits in slabs, not tiles, and holding stock here means selling single slabs landed rather than full containers.

Specification
Gangsaw and cutter slabs · 20 mm and 30 mm · polished, honed, leathered

Natural stone, with no resin-bound high-silica composite.

Core business

Fabrication-ready cut-to-size

Cut and profiled here means less shop time and less waste for the fabricator, and it is priced per job rather than per square foot.

Specification
To template or DXF · sink and hob cut-outs · eased, bevel, bullnose, ogee and mitred edges

Prop 65 documentation supplied for material shipped into California.

Volume filler

Calibrated tiles

Keeps lines loaded and rounds out a mixed load. Not what we lead with.

Specification
30×30, 30×60, 60×60 cm · 10 and 12 mm

Rules that apply here

Duty, compliance and paperwork
for United States.

This applies to United States and nowhere else on this site. Regulation in this trade is regional, and pretending otherwise wastes your time.

Duty & classification

US duty on Indian stone moved sharply in 2025 and was reset by the courts in early 2026. We confirm classification and the duty in force per shipment, and quote landed, so you are not exposed to the difference.

Compliance

Natural granite, not resin-bound engineered stone: no high-silica composite in the product you cut. California Proposition 65 documentation supplied for material shipped into California.

Documentation

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, fumigation certificate. Tariff classification confirmed per shipment.
